An artilce about Sex addicts

This article by Daniel Linz, Ph.D.,Professor of Communication and Law and Society
University of California, Santa Barbara shows that most of the studies done about "Sex addicts" are not conclusive. And often are bias because of society’s prejudices and the therapist doing the labeling.

It is long, but take the time to read it. it once again PROVES that the label thrown out so often is not always the truth.

The BYOB ban means more buisness. Thanks to all who voted against it!

The is from WNEP. The club STAYS! And with no alcohol, it means they can lower the age to 18. Thanks Mr. Family and friends for allwoing the younger crowd in. Nice job.

BYOB Clubs Banned in Wilkes-Barre Township

Voters in part of Luzerne County decided to ban bottle clubs in Tuesday's primary election. Some are strip clubs like Gentlemen's Club 10, which opened recently in Wilkes Barre Township.

The lawyer for that club said the vote results might actually improve business at the strip club. Attorney Elaine Cook says the club might decide to solicit customers as young as 18.

That's probably not what most voters had in mind when they said no to bring your own bottle clubs like Gentlemen's Club 10. Wilkes-Barre Township leaders tried everything they could to keep the club from opening there.

The township lost round one and strippers began their work at the club in March. Round two came with the primary election and voters had their say.

Wilkes-Barre Township Mayor Carl Kuren said he was pleased with the outcome of the vote. "People don't seem to want that gentlemen's place up there," he added. He said the township will now go after Gentleman's Club 10, trying to make it alcohol free, and hoping to hurt its business. He expects a fight.

"I guess we do expect it. We've been there before and we'll probably be there again, in court," Kuren added.

"It really means nothing for Gentlemen's Club 10. It doesn't affect their business. They can remain open. They are essentially grandfathered in because Wilkes-Barre Township issued a permit that specifically says they can operate a BYOB (bring your own bottle)," said club attorney Elaine Cook.

She added there may not be a fight. The place may agree to no alcohol, and then legally allow younger people into the club.

"One of the options available that seems to be lucrative to other clubs is to relinquish any kind of alcohol in the establishment and allow 18, 19 and 20 year olds in the club," Cook explained. She said that age group could be a big boost to business.

The no bottle club law goes into effect in 30 days.

Protests, Protests and more protests

It seems that time and time again, more and more protest show up. The of course obvious protest of Gclub10, and even the more recent protest at the Davinci code movie.
This is nothing new, but seems to be growing. Anything anyone doesn't like they feel the need to try to have it shut down. And most times, facts show there are almost always a religious group. This is why we needed the separation is state and church. Because far too many times the church tries to dictate what we do.
Please do not get me wrong, I am not saying people should not go to church and live their lives full of faith. That is their choice. I don't believe in religion myself. I have studied it and found the many flaws therein to believe in it.
But it is getting too much. Just because you do not care for something does not give you the right to shut it down when others may in fact, like it. I don't like yogurt, should I protest outside TCBY? I hate smoking, should I picket in front of a tobacco store? No. I don't buy their products. So come on folks, stop trying to force your beliefs on others. It is one thing to speak your mind, but it is another to infringe on the rights of others

Invasion of Privacy

As it turns out, Mr Family posting peoples lisecnse plates online is an Invasion of privacy. This in turn could cost him a law suit.

n. the intrusion into the personal life of another, without just cause, which can give the person whose privacy has been invaded a right to bring a lawsuit for damages against the person or entity that intruded. However, public personages are not protected in most situations, since they have placed themselves already within the public eye, and their activities (even personal and sometimes intimate) are considered newsworthy, i.e. of legitimate public interest. However, an otherwise non-public individual has a right to privacy from: a) intrusion on one's solitude or into one's private affairs; b) public disclosure of embarrassing private information; c) publicity which puts him/her in a false light to the public; d) appropriation of one's name or picture for personal or commercial advantage. Lawsuits have arisen from magazine articles on obscure geniuses, use of a wife's name on a hospital insurance form to obtain insurance payment for delivery of a mistress's baby, unauthorized use of a girl's photo to advertise a photographer, and "tabloid" journalism treatment of people as freaks. There are also numerous instances of governmental invasion of privacy such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation compiling files on people considered as political opponents, partially corrected by the passage of the Freedom of Information Act in 1966. The right to privacy originated with an article in the Harvard Law Review in the 1890s written by lawyers "Bull" Warren and future Supreme Court Justice Louis D. Brandeis.

Is sex dirty?

Is it dirty? I don't think so. Here is a great Interview with Jenn Clamen. She is a sex activist who does lectures and interviews and talks about many of the MYTHS about sex workers. It is a great interview. She has done this work for years, and has proven many of the common ideas people have about the sex worker and their clients to be false.

Here is another article from 48 hours, It is a story they did on sexuality. And parts were touched on how many news coverages and article edit their stories to make sex bad, only choosing to show the bad side. Like Some one else's website about a local strip club.
The right to self expression, even in a sexual form is protected under the first ammendment.

Prime time?

The man known as "Mr. Family" has stated the he drove by the club one night this week and stated during the "Prime time" the club had no more than 12 cars. Prime time for a stip club is normally during the weekends, not during the week. Many of the guys that go for the week are trying to avoid the large weekend crowds.
I know Ill be heading back up in June, with a large group for a party. We are even thinking of booking a room for the party. Anyone wanna come along? Hey Mr. Family, your invited!

Opinions

It seems many have their opinions about the new local "Gentlemen's club" And you know what. EVERYONE is welcome to their opinion. In my opinion, I like this type of establishment.
I have no Sexual addiction, I am not deprived, or any of the stereotypes that another site says all the patrons of strips clubs are. I enjoy going out with a few of the guys and see a beautiful woman with no clothes on. So what.
Many bring up the moral issue. Well, morals are an opinion. What one person considers a high morals another does not. I think we can all make our own choices. We do not need others to make them for us. If you do not like the club, do not go there. If you do like it. Ill see you there.
More to follow.
