The BYOB ban means more buisness. Thanks to all who voted against it!

The is from WNEP. The club STAYS! And with no alcohol, it means they can lower the age to 18. Thanks Mr. Family and friends for allwoing the younger crowd in. Nice job.

BYOB Clubs Banned in Wilkes-Barre Township

Voters in part of Luzerne County decided to ban bottle clubs in Tuesday's primary election. Some are strip clubs like Gentlemen's Club 10, which opened recently in Wilkes Barre Township.

The lawyer for that club said the vote results might actually improve business at the strip club. Attorney Elaine Cook says the club might decide to solicit customers as young as 18.

That's probably not what most voters had in mind when they said no to bring your own bottle clubs like Gentlemen's Club 10. Wilkes-Barre Township leaders tried everything they could to keep the club from opening there.

The township lost round one and strippers began their work at the club in March. Round two came with the primary election and voters had their say.

Wilkes-Barre Township Mayor Carl Kuren said he was pleased with the outcome of the vote. "People don't seem to want that gentlemen's place up there," he added. He said the township will now go after Gentleman's Club 10, trying to make it alcohol free, and hoping to hurt its business. He expects a fight.

"I guess we do expect it. We've been there before and we'll probably be there again, in court," Kuren added.

"It really means nothing for Gentlemen's Club 10. It doesn't affect their business. They can remain open. They are essentially grandfathered in because Wilkes-Barre Township issued a permit that specifically says they can operate a BYOB (bring your own bottle)," said club attorney Elaine Cook.

She added there may not be a fight. The place may agree to no alcohol, and then legally allow younger people into the club.

"One of the options available that seems to be lucrative to other clubs is to relinquish any kind of alcohol in the establishment and allow 18, 19 and 20 year olds in the club," Cook explained. She said that age group could be a big boost to business.

The no bottle club law goes into effect in 30 days.

That's awsome news! I'm guessing Mr. Family thought banning BYOB thought that would mean the club would have to close. HA HA!

So they may actually get Grandfather in! Makes sense since the county APPROVED it, and now has changed it's mind.
Even if they don't they do not have to close. Good news indeed!

Wait, I thought they said it would have to close? What is this? We voted against it!

now it will cost us another 100,000 plus in legal fees maybe mr family will foot the bill since he is so set against it. you should have let well enough alone.

Yes, Mr. Family did not let the people that follow his crusade know that since 2003 they were footing the bill for the townships court cost against the club. And after the club got the permits, they fought it again. This time the club was paid losses due to them keeping the doors shut WHILE they had the permits.
Now they can't be BYOB, but they are still allowed nude dancing. And now the crowds will be larger with the college crowd of 18 and up.
And if they choose again to take the club to court, the people of WB Township will once again pay.

Is this true? I thought they said the club would have to close with the BYOB ban? or is Mr. Choice making it up?

can't you people read? the club is staying open your vote only meant no BYOB and now for you will spend more money on court costs. Just think of it for a while...they tell an auto shop they can have permit to operate a repair shop, so the owner remodels and gets equipment and then they say oh sorry we made a mistake. It doesn't work that way they can only prevent other auto shops from opening.
The township gave them the OK to open by issuing them permit and the permit clearly states they wanted a permit for a BYBO. Club 10 holds all the cards and you better get ready to open you wallets up when the start fighting back becasue the law is on their side.

Some people are just in denial. They can't stand that the club will stay open.

Lame. A sicko club like this can't stay open on the limited cash flow of mere children. They will take their best shot and then lose it all in the end.

mere children? they fight for our country, die for our country and vote, but you refer to them as children? what armed force unit were you or your mr. family with?

It is important to understand the legal process at work here.

1) a township can pass any Ordinance (A local township law is called an Ordinance)that they want. However passing an ordinance does not make it enforcable. First the township must have the right under the First, Second or Third Class Township Code to regulate whatever the subject of the new ordinance is.

2) If they have the right to regulate the specific behaviour then businesses legaly established prior to the new Ordinance may have the right to continue doing whatever they were legaly doing.

3) Under some circumstances an affected business can chalange a new regulation in State or Federal court.

In summary- a referendum to ban BYOB clubs in and of itself does nothing. Only passing a legally justified and properly written ordinance can have an effect on the club.

Are you the same person that has been sending me the threating E-mails?
Really, is this what faith teaches you? To threaten?
My stand is the rights of the people in this area. That club is in no way illegal, and the owners and it's patrons have every right to be there in this free country.

Mr Choice I would much rather a person who says what he means and not stand behind the word God. The person would would say those things and use the word God what do you call that? oh yes hypocrite.

The township thinks that by banning BYOB's is going to close this club, yeah ok. First off they have plenty of "juice bars" in New Jersey and they make crazy money. There are other clubs where it's not BYOB, but the customer buys the cup and the club gives them for free beer or top self liquior. This way they aren't selling the alcohol it's supplied for free since they bought the cup. There are so many ways this can go. Also the mom's and dad's that thought they where getting ride of Club 10, now look what you did your little baby son's will be jam packing this club with their friends in the summer. Congrat's Class of 2006!

I am one of those mom's and yes thank you mr family and all the voters in our township that thought they were voting on the club itself. They are older and had not idea what might happen if they voted out BYOB. I much rather it be the white building on the cornor that stood there very quietly until all of the bible bangers started.

So now my son's might be allowed in this place? They should of just left this place alone.

This is what I posted on Mr. family's website:
I work at Club 10 , I'm a dancer and I make more money in a month then you bible pumping idiots make in a year! I'm not a drug addict, a sex addict, a whore or anything else. I go to church every Sunday, I'm married and I have children. Now what can you say about that? My life is in order, my family is taken care of and I'm not embarrassed by my job at all and my husband loves me reguardless of what I do. I understand stripclubs, porn and adult book stores aren't everyones cup of tea, but let them make that choice for themselves. And stop shoving it down their throats. Attacking the staff, owners, dancers, and customers isn't going to make Club 10 go away, it's going to make it a bigger and better fighting machine then it is. This is America and yes your intitled to your own views as we are to ours, can't we ALL just AGREE to DISAGREE?

2:29 PM

So tell me does this get my point across?

Have you people seen the new lame comment on Mr. Family's site? The one about the women carring in a child? That's a lie I seen the security tape and the women wasn't carring in a child. Another one of Mr. family's lame attempts to trash Club 10.

no, it was the house mom carring her bags and stuff trying to open the door. The 2 house mom's don't even have children. The tapes were reviewed and copies made for the proper people to review. I hope Sal gets him on false accusations and the police for false reporting.
