Demolition Man.

Has anyone ever seen the Sylvester Stallone movie "The Demolition Man"? it came out back in 1993. A good action movie, and has some good laughs. But the reason I bring the movie up is the background set in the film. The world in which the characters are set in.It is set in the future, and one man had an idea of a better world. A world with no crime, nor violence, or disease. And it was accomplished, but with a high price.
ANYTHING thought to be bad was made illegal. Music was outlawed, the only thing on the radio was old commercial jingles like the Oscar Myer wiener song. Salt was illegal because it was deemed bad for you. Sex was outlawed and the only way top have a child was in a lab. Kissing was illegal!!! The man in charge of the new world thought what he was doing was freeing the world, but in fact he was caging them. Most common rights were taken away. People had no fun, bored and led very drab lives. Now I know the movie may be a bit far fetched, but when you sit down and think about it, this type of change is already starting today.
There are people in the government trying to have music regulated, and taking any profanity from it. Others are trying to stop violent video games from being produced. TV and movies are also being looked at to see if they cause violent reactions in those who watch them. My question is this, after they are done changing what we watch, listen and play, what will they change next.
Just as our own local adult venues are under attack now. Once they are finished with that what next? The local Skate park? Will they claim that Skateboarding is bad for kids? Some of the local clubs where punk bands play? Will the music be too loud, or the crowds too unruly? We as a people have the right to choose what we wish to see. The Government should not regulate our thoughts for us.

Right winged religious groups think they can impose what ever they feel is right on society. This is the kind of stuff people have been talkign about for years, and now it seems they are tryign it here in our valley, starting with adult clubs.
I hate the fact they try to take the violence out of video games. It such a crock. They have ratings on them. Just like movies, but I guess they are never happy until it is THEIR way an no one else's
Grasping at straws aren't we? Using movies as a reason to save a sex club is pathetic.
anon 6:27 nothing more pathetic than the claim of children at the club...as stated before god it was tru
Yes, I believe some one did "Pledge before God" there was a child taken into the club. It was proven Wrong and the footage was given to the police when the accuser called them. ( I hope to have the footage converted to a format to get online within the week)
But that accuser never apologized for such a terrible claim. But my guess is that it was a simply ploy to get the religious club opposes in an uproar.
